BE Announce replacement grassroots championship venue

We are delighted to confirm that Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire will be hosting the 2021 British Eventing BE80,BE90 and BE100 National Championships 31 July – 1 August 2021.

The experienced Musketeer Management event team will be running the three national Championships at the stunning Cholmondeley Estate against the backdrop of a breathtaking 19th century Castle. Cholmondeley Castle isa well-established British Eventing venue regularly attracting some of the biggest names in the sport and the team are looking forward to putting on unforgettable Championships.

Event Director Alec Lochore commented “We are thrilled to have been awarded these Championships which arethe pinnacle of the eventing calendar for many grassroots members. We look forward to welcoming competitorslater in the year and putting on an unforgettable event for them.”

Lord Cholmondeley added, “We are delighted to welcome this prestigious and much heralded Championships to Cholmondeley Castle. Having hosted the Pony Club Championships here for eight years I am delighted to continueto showcase the estate as a true Championship venue and look forward to welcoming riders, owners and horseslater in the summer.”

The Championships have been awarded to Cholmondeley Castle for 2021 by the BE Fixtures Panel following atender process to award a 2021 BE80 Championship venue and to replace the cancelled BE90 and BE100 ScienceSupplements Cup.

The Fixtures Panel took into account feedback from competitors provided as part of the Science Supplements Cupcancellation survey, as well as from the Rider Working Group representing riders at BE80-BE100 level.

“The standard of applications and venues was very high which made the Fixtures Panel’s decision incredibly hard.It was agreed by majority vote to award the Championships to Cholmondeley Castle based on feedback and keycriteria” said BE’s Sport Manager Debbie Pritchard.

Jude Matthews BE CEO added, “We would like to thank our members for their patience while we concluded thetender process. We are delighted to be able to host all three Championships together at Cholmondeley Castle andto provide those qualified with a special event with championship feel, prestige and at a prime location.”

Entries for the BE80, BE90 and BE100 National Championships at Cholmondeley Castle will open 21 June 2021.
